Unbox & connect
Carefully unbox your device. Connect it to your computer or mobile device using the included cable. Only use the official cable — damaged or unknown cables can compromise security.
Follow these simple steps to initialize your hardware wallet and secure your recovery seed.
This guide leads you through initializing your device, creating a strong PIN, writing down your recovery seed, and verifying everything is correct. Take your time — the security of your crypto depends on it. If you already completed setup, use the restore flow instead.
Carefully unbox your device. Connect it to your computer or mobile device using the included cable. Only use the official cable — damaged or unknown cables can compromise security.
On first boot, choose a new PIN. Do not reuse PINs from other services. Treat your device screen as the source of truth — only confirm actions displayed on it. Use a PIN length that’s comfortable but not obvious.
Your device will show a recovery phrase (usually 12–24 words). Write the words down in order on the supplied recovery card or another offline medium. Never store the seed as an unencrypted digital file or photo.
Confirm a few randomly chosen words on the device when prompted — this verifies the seed was recorded correctly. After setup, send a small test transaction to confirm everything works before transferring larger amounts.
A passphrase adds an extra layer: it creates a hidden wallet accessible only with the specific passphrase + seed. Use this only if you understand the risks: losing the passphrase equals losing access to funds stored under it.
Always update device firmware from official sources. Firmware updates patch vulnerabilities and add improvements. Verify update prompts on the device screen before confirming.
